SLEEP
Sleep
revitalizes the energies and allows the body to use all its powers
to optimize physiological functions. In the unconsciousness of sleep,
we again become one with creation. Sleep is a powerful form of unconscious
exploration and of passive meditation. Many illnesses disappear
simply by sleeping soundly. Our mental lucidity, creativity and
imagination also depend on the quantity and quality of sleep. Don't
listen to those doctors who say that after the age of 40, one can
sleep less. One can never sleep less than 9 hours without undermining
one's vital energies and resorting to reserves that instead should
be used for emergencie such as times of crisis, serious illnesses
and dangerous situations.
Sleep galvanizes the spirit, puts one in a good mood, avoids
energy wastes and impurities, and makes errors, misunderstandings
and accidents less frequent. When we sleep, we are perfect.
Don't give up this elixir of long life and happiness. It isn't true
that "whoever sleeps doesn't catch any fish". The slow
way of living will perhaps make you catch less fish, but you won't
miss the best ones (see also the section on "Insomnia").
