SMALL
CHOICES
CREATE OUR REALITY
And
we automatically leave these choices up to our ego. By ego I mean
precisely the way that we have of thinking of ourselves. The idea
that I have of myself becomes my potential.
To think about myself in a certain way is the first reality that
thought creates. I create myself by thinking about myself, and starting
from this idea of myself, I imagine a world in my own image and
likeness. A mirror image, a world that is the projection of my own
idea. I see only that which I believe exists. And I look for that
which I believe in.
If I believe that everyone attacks me, I end up, by following the
flow of many little negative choices, truly finding people interested
in attacking me. On the other hand, if I believe that the world
is essentially ready to give itself to whoever wishes to accept
it, in the end I find people and situations that confirm this idea.
In this way, your attitude towards things becomes reality, or better,
the fulfillment of a wish implicit in your initial point of view.
Actually, this idea is as old as the centuries:
"God helps those who help themselves," "Heaven
helps a happy heart," "Nothing ventured, nothing gained,"
"Fortune helps the brave"
"Ask and you shall receive," Jesus would say. If you desire
something, you have to become it, in order to attain it. If you
want to sink, donšt swim. Become a stone. The stone sinks in the
water because it is a stone, and it is in the nature of a stone
to sink, the Buddha of Herman Hesse would say.
